Aluminium is the ideal material to use in constructions in general, and frame constructions in particuar as it is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. Moreover, it is distinguished for its durability (in usage and during passage of time) and its high aesthetics.
These assets are nowadays widely recognized, as more than 75% of consumers prefer it to other construction alternatives.
The selection of the most appropriate type of aluminium frame, should be preceded by the following steps:
-
Cooperation between the architect, the engineer and the constructor
-
Consideration of the climatic conditions
-
Careful examination of the type of frame needed in order to fit to the given space
In order to select the right constructor one should always:
-
Collect information on constructor's punctuality and quality of work
-
Check in advance the constructor's portfolio and ask for feedback from past customers
-
Ask for a private contract
-
Ask for construction guarantee
-
Make sure that he is certified by EUROPA ALUMINIUM S.A.
-
Make sure that the product delivered, carries the EUROPA ALUMINIUM S.A. authenticity/protection film
Some practical directives concerning the end user for the maintenance of the frames, are listed below:
-
The regular cleaning of painted profile surfaces will keep them in satisfactory condition.
-
Cleaning is considered necessary when dust and/or pollution are evident on the surface of the profile, and should be done by using a soft sponge and a mixture of water and cleaning product with a pH of 5.5-8, followed by rinsing with clean water.
-
The cleaning products should not affect the surface or change its appearance. Therefore hard sponge, sponge of wire, or diluters must be avoided
-
The above is more the case in industrial and coastal areas, where the frequency of cleaning should be proportional to the deposits of dirt or salts on the profile's surface, since the latter are very corrosive. Alkaline material such as cement, lime and gypsum, should not be allowed to stay adhered to the surface. Moreover, not approved tapes should not be stuck directly on the painted surface.
-
The Authenticity/protection film, which lies on the profiles should be removed right after casement installation, since its exposure to the sun light could cause problems to the surface.
Adherence to the instructions mentioned above, together with the use of a special glue which is directly applied to the points where the paint might be scratched during installation, will contribute to the shiny appearance and strength of the profile, while simultaneously enhancing the anti-corrosion attributes of the profile.
