The aluminium's ability to be practically uncorroded from weather factors, renders it a particularly suitable material for structural applications.
Nowdays, aluminium is the ideal material for structural applications and constitutes the basic material for the construction of frames as it is preferred by 75% of the consumers. Aluminium is non-toxic, friendly to the environment and 100% recyclable. It has very high strength and endurance. It is a material of high aesthetic value, suitable for usage in both modern and traditional structures.
Special consideration must be given to the type and form of the opening of the frame (opening, sliding, with Thermal Break or plain), so as to fully exploit the available space and meet your needs in the best possible way.
It is absolutely necessary that climatic conditions are taken into consideration (there are specific indices that measure the performance of frames under specific climatic conditions).
Selection of the appropriate accessories as these affect the frame's performance and operation. Selection of suitable glass panels as these affect energy losses and incoming light.
A smooth cooperation between the architect, the engineer and the aluminium frame manufacturer must be ensured.
The aluminium frame manufacturer must be aware of the entire range of profiles and the respective capabilities of each profile.
He must offer solutions and recommend the appropriate structure for each case.
He must construct and install the appropriate casing depending on the type of the frame.
He must always calculate a clearance between the casing and the frame in a scale of 2.5 to 3 mm on each side (taking into account the thermal break gasket on the perimeter), thus ensuring the easy installation and alignment of the frame along with a better insulation by the introduction of joint paste into the clearance, as opposed to only applying it only on the surface.
He must cut and pierce the profiles correctly and protect the section points with materials resistant to corrosion.
He must install joint paste on the beveled edges of the profiles upon joining for tightness in order to create tight compartments and lead water to the exterior of the frame through drainage channels.
Also, he must install silicon at the bottom part of the frame between the casement and the marble sill during installation, so as to prevent the water inlet to the interior of the building.
He must always create the required drainage channels based on the place and the position of the frame.
He must always use the right accessories listed in the catalogues.
He must give consideration to the sealing gaskets making sure that they are made of EPDM.
He must properly wedge the glass panels so as to prevent the hanging of the structure.
He must seek the assistance of EUROPA's technicians in case of difficult construction in order to avoid potential problems.
Within the framework of the best consumer service, EUROPA evaluates and certifies the best manufacturers in order to allow you to choose your partner more easily. Evaluation is based on objective and precice specifications regarding the space, the equipment and quality of the construction and the installation that each manufacturer must meet. The certification granted by EUROPA is valid for two (2) years, whereas the Company reserves every right to revoke it, if this is thought to be advisable.
EUROPA Systems cover all the structural needs for residential frames and are available in various types: Sliding pocket or overlapping, opening, arched, projecting, tilting, pivoted, double hung, folding, atriums, shutters, rolling shutters, insect screens, etc. Both the opening and the sliding, as well as the folding EUROPA Systems, may also obtain Thermal Break (by means of resin or polyamide). They are available in a wide range of colours (RAL, INOX, wood shades, etc.) which meet every taste and as in various types of painting. The authenticity tape affixed on the EUROPA aluminium profiles guarantees the quality of your choice and is used for protecting the frames from potential wear during transportation and installation.
All EUROPA Aluminium Systems bear a special self-adhesive EUROPA authenticity tape that is installed on the aluminium profiles and guarantees the excellent quality of your choice and is used for the protection of frames against potential wear during transportation and installation.
Moreover, a special EUROPA mark is created on a hidden spot on the profiles serving as a unique proof of authenticity of the Company's Systems.
- Caution! The EUROPA authenticity tape must be present on all frames installed even on aluminium roller shutters and insect screens.
- Always request that the delivery documents state the specific EUROPA aluminium series of the installed products.
*After the completion of all building works, the EUROPA authenticity tape must be removed so that you can enjoy the perfect appearance of a complete frame.

Aluminium frames do not require any particular maintenance. However, cleaning is considered necessary when dust or other polluting agents are visible on the surface of the frames and it must be carried out with water and cleaning products with pH value ranging from 5.5 to 8.
A soft sponge is sufficient for cleaning, whereas drying must be carried out with a cloth. Hard sponges, wire or cleaning solvents must be avoided, as they damage the surface and appearance of the frame.
Cleaning must be carried out more often in industrial and coastal areas.
The gaskets must be replaced every 8-10 years in order to preserve the frame's tightness.
After the completion of the construction works, the EUROPA authenticity tape must be removed in order for you to enjoy the perfect appearance of a complete frame.
For better maintenance of your frames, EUROPA offers a special frame cleaning set which comprises a cleaning emulsion for the profiles and a special cloth, oil for the hinges and mechanisms as well as a special oil stick for maintaining the gaskets.
Aluminium is the ideal material for recycling for the following reasons:
It allows easy and economical separation and sorting
Aluminium recycling can be repeated infinitely
The production of the metal derived from the re-melting and molding of used aluminium products and rejects, requires only 5% of the energy required for the production of new metal, i.e. the metal produced by bauxite.
It is worth noting that more than 1/3 of the aluminium consumed in Europe for the production of various end products is derived from re-melted aluminium (recycling).
Reduction of heat exchange
The reduction of heat exchange results in the internal surfaces of the frame being warmer during the winter (e.g. outdoor temperature 0°C, indoor temperature 20°C) and cooler during the summer (e.g. outdoor temperature 40°C, indoor temperature 20°C).
High sound insulation index
The EUROPA Thermal-Sound Insulation Aluminium Systems, with a high insulation index, reduce the noise derived from the external environment.
Economy in heating and cooling
Effective thermal insulation and air tightness, reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling, which leads to great energy and cost saving.
Minimization of the condensation effect
EUROPA Thermal-Sound Insulation Aluminium Systems minimize the condensation (liquefied air) effect on their interior surfaces, when there is a great difference in the temperature between the indoor and the outdoor environment. When insulation and total protection are a priority, use the EUROPA 550, 5500, 600, 10000, S.550 and S.5500 Thermal-Sound Insulation Aluminium Systems and forget about cold, heat and noise once and for all...
This is an enhanced surface treatment procedure which precedes painting aiming at improved protection against corrosion in special seaside or heavily polluted environments.
According to the Greek Aluminium Association:
The SEASIDE CLASS is awarded after the realization of an audit to companies already holding the QUALICOAT certificate.
This pre-treatment consists in the exposure of the metal to alkaline and acidic environments before colouring and coating the aluminium profiles aiming at higher protection against corrosion in rather surcharged environments (e.g. coastal).
The Greek Aluminium Association awards the QUALICOAT certificate with SEASIDE CLASS requirement as proof of the fact that the paint shop is capable of meeting the requirements of this pre-treatment procedure.
The EUROPA Aluminium Systems also take the lead in the replacement of old frames with series that ideally meet every architectural requirement.
